A copy, probably. Permission to include in Robert's archives as well?

Well, maybe I'll take a shot, starting with just getting a copy, then deciding whether there is enough there to make it worthwhile to ask for permission to include in the Heinlein archives as well.

I'll keep in mind wielding the "James Bomb" if necessary. ;)

Anybody have an opinion of how much of a s**t-storm I would be inviting by just magically appearing tear sheets of the published Playboy roundtable in the online Heinlein archives?

You would be violating their ownership of the papers.

You are limited to the fair use doctrine, unless they grant you permission to post, which may involve fees.

You will, of course, mail me a copy as payment for this advice....

Perhaps I should be culling the Heinlein end for Boucher papers to offer in trade re "rights" (with HPT permission for the scheme, of course). Hmm.

I did some work with the Lilly Library about thirteen years ago (Robert's is much more recent), and the White personal papers seem fairly complete (the Mercury business correspondence are at another Archive, though I can't remember where at this moment) -- at least it would take a very thorough combing and cross-comparison of the Heinlein Archive to discover whether it has any papers not already in the Boucher papers.

Thirteen years ago they were not able to find the letter that White wrote, to which Heinlein replied in 1956 or 1957, offering to pray for the intervention of St. Dymphna. Since then, I understand they've done considerable organization. That would be a find.
