But... but... what color nail polish was Jo wearing when she wrote this?

In the end, I found Heinlein is finite. Thus, finite analysis is needed.

Sorry; you lost me. For the record, I have no idea who Jo is, nor had I read anything else of hers before this, so if there's a reference in there, I'm afraid it went completely over my head.

It's the fluffiest, content-lite blurbing passing for a review I've read in a while. She doesn't seem to know what a review - even of a classic novel - is supposed to consist of. So while we're at it I demand to know what color nail polish she's wearing and also what she plans to have for lunch. I mean, that's the point of the Twitter gener... SQUIRREL!...

Ha! Thanks for taking the time to explain. I followed the link in this review to her review of Friday, and it seems very much in the same vein. I wonder if Tor is paying her for this stuff.

Eh, if anyone this side of Panshin writes a modern review of a Heinlein novel, I'd call that a win for our side. I won't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Yes, yes, I figured you or someone else would say something about all publicity, good publicity, etc. so forth.

But other than the mention of the title, that "review" does nothing to inspire a newcomer to want to read the book. If anything it's a little offputting. Only a newish RAH reader who perhaps had not heard of or gotten 'round to that title would be inspired.

See: damning, faint praise, etc. ...SQUIRREL!

Hmm. Say. You know...

Maybe we should review the major canon. Each at some length, with balance, and strike a balance between being a modern-take review and a classic-work critique. Neither too fluffy nor too smothering, just give modern readers the sort of prep and intro like that of all good current reviews.

We could, you know, post them somewhere.
