Post Famous Missourians: Heinlein Needs Your Vote!
The Missouri House of Representatives has a site to vote for "The Hall of Famous Missourians." Thanks to Instapundit and some other online friendlies Heinlein has shot into the lead, but a graduate of the Pendergast Machine would never let up until the polls close. Or not even then! :D

Vote here.

Not a difficult choice. I have no idea who the others are.

Mike Glyer reports on the Hall of Famous Missourians project. Sculptor E. Spencer Schubert* is planning to create a bust of Robert Heinlein.

Quoting Mr. Glyer:
Quote:
I queried the Speaker’s staff when Heinlein will go in. They plan to do it during the House’s September Veto session — unless the funds are not raised by then.

Missouri’s rule is that the bust must be paid for by the public (not the state). The following money is needed: Bust – $9,500; Base – $2,000; Plaque – $250.

I have asked the Speaker’s staff how the public can make donations and will post any response here.

*According to Wikipedia. Schubert also sculpted the HoFM's shiny bronze bust of Rush Limbaugh.

You have a gift for generating an ambiguous reaction.

Whatever. I rather like his work. You can see samples on his website: E. Spencer Schubert. He seems to do a decent job of representing his subjects within the genre of public statuary.

I don't see what the politics of commissioned subjects has to do with the quality of Schubert's work. :?:

I didn't say that the politics of commissioned subjects has anything to do with the quality of Mr. Schubert's work.

I merely dropped a name. Without comment.

Everything else happened inside the heads of those reading.
