Post Heinlein on Uncyclopedia
I know this will not be to everyone's taste but I found it amusing. Uncyclopedia is a parody of Wikipedia (an almost redundant idea, admittedly). Here is there entry for Heinlein: http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Robert_Heinlein

I apologize in advance if anyone finds this offensive.

Not offensive in the least, and thanks for sharing. If anything, it's a little weak given the opportunity for some razor-sharp humoring... maybe some of us need to visit and help the entry along. :)

You may not have participated enough to know that Wikipedia is not well thought of by many of the participants here, a group among which I believe I stand first. (I don't know which I hate more: WP itself or what it stands for in terms of intellectual debasement.) But that's a tale for another thread.

I love Uncyclopedia and the other parody/alternative wiki sites.

I have seen a few remarks about Wikipedia here that were not entirely favorable. My opinion about it is mixed. There is a lot of very good information to be found there. The problem is, you can't know if it is accurate or complete. I tried my hand at writing articles for Wikipedia in a few areas about which I happen to know something. Sometimes, it worked fine but other times, what I posted was quickly altered or eliminated by other "editors." The alterations seldom improved what I had written and a number of times it changed the entry from being true and reasonably complete to just garbage. Unfortunately, that experience makes it difficult for me to read anything there with out wondering how much it can be relied upon.

Ha! Thanks for sharing. It is a little weak, but not from lack of trying. I'll bet Peter could spice this entry up quite a bit.

Thanks for the compliment. I could write an entry that I would find funny, to be sure. I don't find this one very amusing. Either the humor is lame or I just don't grok it. In case it's the latter, I'll stay clear.
