Post Nuclear spectroscopy
Somewhere in this group is someone who can, or knows someone who can, perform nuclear spectroscopy.

I need a radiological signature check on a rock. (No, it's not in my head.)

Can anyone help? Or point me to a site, source, U or lab that might be of assistance?

What do you mean by "nuclear spectroscopy"? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NMR_spectroscopy ?

O, God, are we about to be afflicted with a new version of the Shaver Mystery?

I believe there are NMR labs at one of the universities around Sacramento -- chat up your local physical anthropology department at UC Sacramento

I thought the term was more specific - sorry. I believe I'm looking for a gamma emission spectrum, a radiological 'signature.'

Naw. Wouldn't make any difference; I'm way done having kids. :P

I am buying some very nice trinitite specimens. By all visual evidence they are authentic - yep, that's bomb glass - but the provenance is fuzzy. I want to get a radiological spectrum to match the fingerprint with genuine, from-Trinity trinitite.

UC Davis should be able to help me. I have pings out now. But if anyone knows some NASA wacko who likes to do gamma spectrum profiling as a hobby...
