Post Io Shadowing Ganymede
A scene right out of Farmer in the Sky, captured last Sunday through an 11-inch Celestron telescope by an amateur astronomer in the Phillipines:

I was going to read the whole forum before starting to post, but couldn't resist this. Io is casting its shadow across Ganymede. More info on this can be found on http://www.spaceweather.com.

In case anyone is interested in seeing some great animations of the various moons and planets in our solar system,
http://sos.noaa.gov/datasets/solar_system/ is a great site for them. You can download these as Quicktime
movies. http://sos.noaa.gov/datasets/solar_system/ganymede.html is one of my favorites (click on the
image at the upper right to download the movie).
