Frank Lloyd Wright lived until 1959, not '57.

I'm sure this shows my shallowness or something, but one (among many) that I remember sticking in my head until I tracked it down again was "Lost Legacy." I really liked the characters; I loved the idea that we could all have superhuman powers if we just figured out how to use that part of our brains. And bringing in Ambrose Bierce just made it all that much better.

Post Re: Favorite Heinlein Short Story
I don't believe I have a singular favorite. My appreciation of the stories shifts, and definitely grows, over time.

For instance, I don't think I glimpsed what Heinlein may have been doing in "The Man who Traveled in Elephants" until the old catch-phrase "did you see the elephant?", and Yeats' poem "The Circus Animals' Desertion", clanged together in my mind.

Another story mentioned already, "Water Is for Washing", I early appreciated as a vivid narrative because I knew the setting: visiting the Salton Sea for the first time at the age of twelve or so, about when I first read the story.
