Post Virginia the actress
From a 1939 Brooklyn Daily Eagle article about the "Tophatters", a Brooklyn amateur theater group.
Quote:
Virginia Gerstenfeld is a chemist — honest! — who loves to roller skate and play the piano.
In the coming production she plays the part of an innocent 16-year-old trying to get kissed.

Outstanding find! I knew that it was reported she had done some amateur/small troupe acting, but this is, I believe, the first hard data.

I found another Tophatters article mentioning her in 1941, so she was involved for a couple of years.

The one I quote also has a picture of her, reading the script with her castmates and the director, Robert Carson. If you will host it and provide a link, I will email you the page it appears on (a pdf file).

The 1941 find is new to me -- but the 1937 was printed in the Heinlein Journal Virginia Heinlein biographical sketch after she died, which would have been 2003, I guess.
