shooting were men protecting their girlfriends.

They should be honored for their courage.

I'm not quite sure how such behavior constitutes a "Heinlein moment," other than that RAH wrote admiringly of such actions.

I think that such instinctive action is present in most adults, especially those who are parents, and manifests many times unnoticed. Such things are what make me believe the human race has a future. If there's a Heinlein aspect to this situation, it's that it upholds the core tenets of what I think is his most important single writing: "This I Believe."

Yes, there were several tales of heroism. One girl saved the life of her best friend by applying pressure to a severed artery while under fire. There ought to be a medal in her future.

another gentleman threw himself over his pregnant wife and was gravely wounded- yesterday, while he was in ICU, his wife delivered their baby- at same hospital

i'm sure hear more hero's tales from this tragedy- extreme circumstances bring out people's best (and worst)
