Sorry to drag the level down to this week's tee-vee offerin's, but...

1) Did anyone here watch the Sons of Anarchy with the transvestite, and
2) Have you pulled your jaw up off the floor yet?

I've just finished season one. I'm quickly getting myself caught up and have been enjoying the show a lot.

It's uneven. Gets very, very soapy in spots and season endings tend to be a bit deus ex motorcycla, but good episodes outnumber the weak and the best are stellar.

They're going for gut-churning violence in the fifth season. Opening episode had a scene that was almost literally unwatchable and a few later was one equally sickening.

The ep I am referring to was one of the much lighter ones and they pulled off... something I won't try to describe; you'll know it when you get there and if it hasn't been spoiled for you you will need padding between your chin and the floor.

1) Yes
2) I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so there was nothing unusual about the episode for me.

No, no... it's not about the action, which was hilariously off-key for the show.

It's about... um... you DO realize who the devil in the blue dress WAS?

The Shield, and I looked it up in the meantime. Didn't recognize him! Good makeup job on his chest, too.

I recognized the voice on the second line and almost fell out of my chair laughing. My god, he nailed the part. Chest was a full-body appliance - the seam was up around his jawline.

I finally caught up to this episode in Season 5.

I was like:

  :?

Poor, poor Tig.

I loved it, great episode, especially with how dark and violent Season 5 has been.

Now I just need episodes 6-13 to finish downloading from Itunes.
