Just cruising YouTube when I ran across Jerry Was a Man, 2007, with Ann Heche. Anyone seen it?

That was part of the Masters of Science Fiction short series, right? It was OK.

Yes, it was and the best of the series though that's not saying much. I didn't like it as much as I was hoping I would because they turned into a comedy. I haven't read it in a long time, but I don't remember Heinlein's story as a comedy. The movie version of Poul Anderson's High Crusade made the same fundamental mistake. Just because a story may have some humor in it does not mean it can be turned into a slapstick comedy.

I do remember watching it, and being disappointed that they didn't stay true to the original story. Much like I, Robot, the movie, strayed from the original. I'm not sure why Hollywood feels the need to modify so much. Updating the time period is fine, audiences seem to have problems with some of that, but stick to the story!

Hey, these guys get paid big bucks to fuck up other peoples' work; they have to do something to justify all that cash.
