Post Opus 192a -- Congressional Space Testimony
Here is Heinlein's testimony as given (spoken).

Here it is as prepared and submitted (pre-written).

I see he's still working the "year one" schtick ten years after the first Moon landing. Apparently he couldn't resist springing it on a Congressional audience.

Perhaps he believed he was encountering a new audience who hadn't heard it before and whose preconceptions would particularly benefit from being tasered.

Quite a wonderful piece of reading, the spoken testimony. I didn't compare it with the published one, but it seems to have some different notes to it.

He edited a bit for Bova, and I think the edited version is the one that got take up in Expanded Universe. We've gone back to the original transcription for the Virginia Edition.
